A couple of years ago I was riding a trail through a local park that followed a chain link fence. There was a gap in the fence of about 1m and as I approached it a mob of about 10 wallabies jumped through the fence and across the trail. I was fairly kicking along and didn't have much time to stop and hit the tail of one of them, which pushed me into the fence. My handlebars went through one of the links, my bike stopped all of a sudden and I got thrown about 3m and broke my hand.

One of my best mates dad's was visiting town and he's a mad keen mountain biker & road cyclist and when I told him why my hand was sore and why I was covered in gravel rash he pissed himself laughing that something so stupid as a wallaby could have done that to me and he spent the next 2 weeks of his trip paying me out. I had the last laugh though because on his second last day of the trip while out doing a ride on his road bike he hit a 6ft tall kangaroo and got put in hospital for 2 days.

Gotta love karma
