Pedestrian rage, from Leah Garchik's SF Chronicle column today:
as I walked down Powell toward Market the other day, I heard a nicely dressed woman snap the words, "I don't drive, but what's it to you?" to a nicely dressed man walking behind her. Apparently, she had walked in front of what he considered to be his path, and he had said he hoped she didn't drive like that. It was around 9 a.m., the streets weren't crowded, and there was plenty of room for both; nonetheless, there was sidewalk rage. Their comments back and forth grew more heated, and as she got onto the escalator down to BART, with him a few steps behind, I heard her ask, "Do you enjoy being such an a-hole?" to which he responded ... By then I had passed, curious about the outcome of this fight but glad I wasn't headed onto a BART car with the two of them.
