Any tips on me trying to add something like that to my grey frame?

Kinds of paint, etc?
Well, if all you wanted to do was add some pink, you could do a procedure like this....

1. Strip off all parts, down to a bare frame.

2. Lightly wet sand the whole frame/forks with a 600gr sandpaper, but do not remove any paint. Just scuff the clear coat.

3. Tape off all the silver, and leave only the red stripes showing. Use fine line tape around the edges of the red, leaving just a little silver showing. This prevents any red from reappearing after you pull the tape. Then paint over all the red with metallic pink. When you remove the tape, the pink panels will cover the old red. Silver with pink stripes would look pretty neat.

4. Paint two coats minimum of clear over the whole thing, with wet sanding between coats to smooth out the whole paint job.
