How many times have you gone to the doctor with a cough and sore throat, been diagnosed with a "viral infection" and been given a prescription for amoxicillin?
If that isn't enough to convince you... ever heard of OxyContin? Vioxx?
The only medication for me is self-medication.
Yeah **** letting kids breathe easily. It's not like mild asthma ever got worse by not treating it.
ADD drugs may be a problem but I think that rests as much with schools and parents as it does with drs.
What do penicillin allergies have to do with anything?
I have never been given antibiotics for a mild cough and certainly not without evidence that the malady was bactirial.
Oxycontin? Yeah it's a great way to treat crippling pain. Too bad people found a way to abuse it.
Vioxx? Similiarly an amazing treatment for a crippling condition. Sure it increases the risk of heat attack so slightly that it wasn't able to be detected in pre-release trials but certainly it's better for you then inactivity. Ask the millions of former users who want to take it.
