Yeah I was standing on the pedals to accelerate because I forgot to shift into a lower gear when stopping for the stop sign. When I pulled on it to put more pressure on the bar sort of just tore away.

It figures though, left it out in the rain it was really rusty on the inside but there was no rust on the outside. It was one of those bikes I got at a garage sale ($20) and left it outside year round.

Probably not a good idea to keep riding i seeing as parts of the frame are also rusting away as well.

It's a "Leader" 13 speed MTB. Come to think of it I DID hit a car a while ago (6 months), broadsided it when an idiot decided to turn left in front of me because he thought he could beat me since I was only on a bike.

Excuse the really bad image - only had a webcam handy.
