A few years ago on a day off I was walking to Home Depot to buy some paint. There is an elementary school nearby. I was crossing the street **in the crosswalk** and a mom who was late picking up her kids barely slowed down at the stop sign and proceeded to make her right turn --- right into me.
Luckily I bounced off the side of the *mini*van so all she did was knock me down but the rear wheel scraped the skin off my leg from the knee to the ankle.
Needless to say when the cops finished with her she was VERY LATE picking up her kids.
Since then, whether on foot or my bike, I always make sure a motorist (and especially soccer moms) see me and stop!!! Rotten bastages!!!!
