Absolutely. You don't have the time or presence of mind to move all your joints/muscles through all possible degrees of articulation - also, sometimes swelling/pain takes time to set in. My last wreck, I thought all I had was road rash until I got home, and tried to move my right arm above level. Turns out I banged the hell out of my shoulder. By that evening, I couldn't move my arm pretty much at all.
