When you're hauling ass down a fairly deserted street with 30-40 pounds on your back coming up to a 4-way intersection, where a taxi driver shows up and plows through 3 feet in front of you, skidding or skipping isn't going to keep you from hitting the car.
Only time I've ever had to do that.
