Sunday Ride- Part A is done.
I went out early for an easy 51 mile ride. The last 9 miles were on a rail trail that gets a fair amount of traffic on the weekend. I managed to make someone's day on the trail. I passed a couple and about a mile or so later as I was slowing down for a cross road I hear a "On your left". It was the male of the couple I had passed as he blew right through the raod crossing. I just kept riding as I had been riding all morning. About 100 yards later he unclips and unsteadily wanders off the pavement to the left and stops. Not only didn't I know there was a race, I didn't know where the finish line was either. Dang.
A few miles later my cell phone rings. It is a riding buddy of mine that has gone up to Charlotte with a roommate to pick up a car. He told me that he was on his way to Greenville to watch some of the racing and then was going to do some climbing down in the Smokies. That sounds like a super bike riding day.
A bit later today my youngest son and I are going out for a ride unless it is pouring rain. I'm guessing 15 to 20 miles. That will be Part B.
