Do I need to buy what everyone regards as the fairly lame Innova studded tires that (as far as I can tell) are the only options for a 20 in bike? Or will some bmx knobblies do the trick? Reverse treads, as Peter White seems to suggest?

Any other tips for riding a little bike through winter?

Someone with experince in the white stuff, please advise!

Not many choices in 20" studded tires. You can always make your own with sheet metal screws...
