I don't want to ride the FSA cranks because I seem to remember they have a weight limit. I may be wrong but some of the FSA cranks do. I've used FSA carbon cranks on road bikes. I'm really not all the impressed with them. I was using old Race Face Turbines until this year and went outboard XT. Heavy but they just work.
I've never used Magura Martha brakes but a friend has had to deal with them and has sent them back numerous times to Magura for repair. To date, they are still not right.
My experience with high level components has been vast in the 13-15 years I have been racing and riding MTB. Yes, I can tell a difference in weight.
Frankly, your experience with grip shifts is just your own opinion just like it is mine. I don't like them. I can understand the left shifter but frankly I don't like them. Honestly, if the bike is setup correctly, I don't worry about having to "trim" the FD. Personally, I don't like using the grip aspect of things and prefer the triggers. I can dump as many gears as I need as quickly as I need. I don't wait until the climb starts to start dumping gears.
So yes, I look at your build and do think that at MY weight I would break some things on it. I also be right that the Stans wheels also might be at the fringe of my body weight. I know some of their stuff is weight limited. I'd have to go back and look but when I was heavier I knew I couldn't ride some of their rims.
From the reviews I have read on the Ibis, it comes about as close as I need. For everything else, I still have my Steel HT and 4" bike.
A friend of mine runs egg beaters and loves them. I'm still using shimano pedals. I'm looking at replacing them and was thinking about eggbeaters but some of the reviews I read talk about how easy they are to bend. I've been watching my friend's eggbeaters and he hasn't had any issues yet.
So you can take my comments as being caustic or go back and reread them. Personally, I think you need to take off the panties and get a thicker skin.

Congratulations. I used to weigh 220 pounds so I know how hard it is to lose. My race weight is 165 - 168 pounds. My current "fat" weight is 178 pounds. At this weight I don't worry about the bike weight, it doesn't make enough difference overall. Once I get down to where I can tell a difference bike weigh makes a bigger difference, not at 178 pounds though, at least not enough to justify the extra money and the extra risk of breaking parts.
Once again, congratulations.
Sorry that you see it that way. Even though I have used those brakes and many of the other components for over three years riding and racing on WV mountain bike trails. Sometimes finesse makes a big difference.
Hope you enjoy it.
Sweet, hope you enjoy the ibis. Just remember, there is no "do it all" bike.
That bike was a simple suggestion. I didn't realize it would upset you so much. I apologize.
Why, apparently price is no object.
That statement lets me know all I need to know about your experience level with high end components and how open minded you are. Really no reason to go on. However, just for the heck of it why not, it's kinda fun.
Magura Marta SL's - Mine have been raced and ridden hard for over three seasons with no troubles. I think I will stick with them. I have also owned Martas and never had a problem with those either.
FSA Team Issue Cranks - I wasn't planning on paying you to ride them so that really isn't an issue. I am going to continue to ride them without even requesting that anyone pays me for it. I figure that I have had them on four bikes and ridden them for four or five years, why quit now.
Grip shifts far surpas triggers shifters in my opinion. Being able to trim the front derailleur is priceless. Not to mention the ability to drop 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 gears all at once when you come up on a sudden steep climb around a corner.
Because Titec Pork Rinds are awesome.
Honestly, can you blame anyone here for not being interested in helping you out? After all....
Oh yeah, I'm also using 4-ti eggbeaters. I'm sure you will want to go ahead and bash those as well.
