I just finally picked up Friel's Bible. I'll be reading Coggan's Power book next, in prep for my move to training with power.
So far, I'm liking Friel, but I'm really just getting started.
I've also read Carmichael's Training for Coaches (or something like that) that is a collection of essays from other coaches and guys like Hincapie. Pretty cool book with a lot of great tips -- but nothing to construct a program with.
Before that, I hadn't read anything since LeMond's Complete Book of Cycling. There were a few key paragraphs in that huge book that have been cornerstones of my training for 15 years, and have served me well when I actually apply myself.
Bingo - that's it. I need something that I can build a program with.
