"We call that career 'the widow maker'!" </simpsons quote>
While your decision is shocking to me, I'm sure it's only because it's the first I've heard of it. You've probably been pondering it for a long time. It's always seemed like a pretty stressful job to me, so I can certainly understand why you'd want to get out. At the same time it's always kind of sad to see someone stop doing something they (I presume!) love doing, just because so often mixing things you love with your career tends to taint either your love of the activity or the job side of things (hopefully that made sense). E.g. I love photography, but would I ever want to be a photographer? Hell no!
I want to say "good luck in your future endeavors", but that sounds lame and also makes it sound like I won't see you anymore.

I'm interested to know what your future holds, but I'll save that for an "over beer" conversation.
I'll definitely be taking a look through the shop to see what's available. I know I'm definitely in need of a headset for the IRO!
