I have a Big Tow. Is it just the retaining pins that are bent? You could pull off the plastic pieces that hold the pins and the spring mechanism, and use simple cotter pins like the old Bobs. I imagine it would work.

Search for "Hairpin Cotter Pin" at http://www.mcmaster.com/ for an example of the pins.
