I'm a tour guide! And yes, the pay isn't great and we tend not to get tips as it's not really part of the culture. But it is a fantastic job. We only offer day rides so thankfully a lot of the accommodation issues aren't a problem. We just have to deal with the weather, food outlets closing when we need to order lunches, different riding abilities within the group, taxis etc...
BUT, you get paid to ride a bike and talk to people from all around the world! It's the best job I've ever had!
