I have a Huffy Superstar fixie that I use as my beater/towing bike. Its heavy as hell and rides like a tank. I use it when I need to keep my bike outside in a ****ty area at night or if I am going somewhere and I need to attach a trailer (usually carrying cases of beer). It does the job, but after getting my fuji track, I only ride the huffy when absolutely necessary.

if you already have the parts and you want to do this... why not. but I wouldnt spend any money on it. I agree with most of the other posts, wait until you find a nicer frame to even build up a beater, why waste money on something you will probably not enjoy riding... then again, I dont know the frame... so maybe it will be a nice ride. Dont worry about people making fun of it because its a Huffy... just make sure its worth the time.
