at the risk of sounding like a total counter-culture hipster, i silkscreen shirts (among other things) and use primarily american apparel. i've found both hanes beefy-t and gildan to have unflattering cuts and comparably poor material quality, and if you're a retailer or independent clothing maker you can get a substantial discount on your materials through them. this of course has nothing to do with shirts available for purchase with prints on them, only in the quality of the raw clothing goods.
