I personally don't like the DA 9sp shifter hoods although I do like the 10sp hoods as well as the Ultegra 9sp ones. I'm the only person that I know who has this issue mind you. Anyhow, I did eventually switch my 9sp DA crank for a 10sp Ultegra one because it came with a new BB (and the price was good). I'd say if you can find 9sp DA in non crashed form with good or new brifters and bb then go for that. If not, gear with no wear is nice. I haven't had much experience with ultegra10 deraillers. I like my used 9sp DA ones more than the 10sp one I used but at the same time the 10sp was a long body (possibly medium actually) and the DA ones have been short cages so that may be it.
