Yep! Most of the signals I have to contend with are on four lane roads. Commonly, while coasting to a stop (or timing the green), cars will merge at the last second to be ahead of me rather than in the lane next to me.
When that happens I will filter forward to the front of that car, either to the crosswalk lines or to just behind the the car in front of it, and take the lane. Yes I know: petty. But outside of this I am a paragon of virtue!
