Model and Year of a Peugeot frame?

This is a pretty colossal (if not impossible) task, but I picked up a freshly powder-coated Peugeot frame for a fixed gear project for $50 and, while all I really need to know is the bottom bracket threading, I'd like to know the original model and year if possible.

Serial #s:
On the bottom bracket: BM0002 (possibly BMC002, the sandblasting and powder coating has obscured it). [Sidenote: If this is really a Peugeot, shouldn't it start with a P?]
On the left rear drop-out: 158989

From that, I'm pretty sure it's a 1980s model.

The bottom bracket shell is 68mm (35mm wide), the rear drop-out spacing is 115mm.
As far as the geometry the seat tube is 55cm (center to center), top tube 54.5cm, and wheelbase 106cm. (These numbers may +/- 1cm.)

The lack of decals and components make this frustrating as hell, but any guesses to push me in the right direction would be appreciated. I don't care if it's worth what I paid or not (it'll be awesome because I'm riding it), but I would like to re-badge it and get (fairly accurate) decals for it.
