I'm building some wheels strictly for the velodrome. For the front I have a Miche front hub and a 28h Velocity Fusion rim. The spokes I have were measured to be for a 2 cross wheel, because that's what the shop I bought the parts from reco'd (he's also seen two of the front wheels I've wrecked on the street or in crashes), but I'm not sure he knew these would never see street use, only the track.

Is it worth it to buy some new spokes (from Licktons, $13 for a box of 20) to lace radial or 1x instead, for the weight savings, aero factor (for the radial option) and 'proper'-ness and of cool factor of radial? I weigh about 170. 1x better than radial for the front?
