Pls disregard my waffle below.... I've now found a prexisting thread on the matter
here with a few suggestions.
Sometimes the search function produces Database errors for me - I think in the offpeak US times during backups/downtime or whatever.

Hey peoples.
I have been running some diacompe 287vs on my v-braked Surly cross-check for a year or so quite happily. But recently the pivot bolt - or perhaps pin - that the levers turn on has come loose and slides to and fro with use. It's as if the riveted end has worn off.
Whilst I still have the pin, I have developed the almost subconscious habit as I ride of ensuring it hasn't slid out too far with my thumb and index finger - for fear of losing it or my rear braking capacity
Any suggestions as to how I might address this properly? I was thinking a replacement bolt would have to be the exact same diameter and then have ugly/uncomfortable protusions with the bolt head & nut either side of the lever.
With with a big enough diameter punch head could I place the lever against a hard surface and try to bash a new rivet lip on the upside? Though this might require a little more precision & hand eye coordination than I might be able to muster
thnks
