I just bought some 2" big apples for my cross check

I also ordered some fancy "Cody's wood fenders" from his Ebay store. They were advertised at 2" and I was a bit worried that they would bee too narrow. I got them super-fast, and they are beautiful, but they only measure 1-13/16. Is a 1-13/16 fender going to protect me from road spray from my 2" fat tires? I could always return these fenders (or use them on another bike) and have Cody build some wider ones for me.

Anyone actually have experience trying to use a fender that is more narrow than the tire?
