I agree, the thought of a wimpy air compressor is depressing to me. But seriously, if the OP is just looking for something to air up tubeless tires, I'm not sure a compressor with a tank is even necessary. I've seen small electric pumps that are meant to inflate car tires, that should be all that's needed to inflate a tubeless mountain bike tire (it's the steady steam of air that you can't get from a hand pump that's needed). And again, the only thing a hand pump won't do very well is seat the bead. Once the bead's seated, a hand pump can be used if higher pressures are needed.
