'08 Trek Soho 4.0

I have an '07 FX 7.3 right now and had been looking at upgrading a few things...then I started looking at the new Soho and am considering a complete upgrade. Any reason not to? Been riding even more than I had planned and can justify the investment of a fancier bike now.

It is limited on gear choices (single front ring with internal 8 speed rear) compared to my 7.3, but I can count the amount of times I have needed the 1st and 3rd front rings on one hand. I do use the entire rear selection. It is hilly where I live, but where I plan to move it is less so (well, more gradual hills anyway). Plans are for light grocery shopping (I go every 2-3 days anyway), 10 mile commute round-trip and various recreational rides. I guess I should do some calculations to see if it will cover my currently used gear spread.

Points of concern: Gears, slightly curved handlebars (I like my flat bars now, if a bit wide. no too concerned here) and not knowing much about the drive train and brakes. I am just now getting familiar with the derailleur set-up (always single speed bikes before) and never had discs.

Anything I am missing or should/shouldn't be concerned with?

Oh, I would likely have to order it sight unseen/ridden...
