It is supposed to absorb more road shock and give a cushier ride, that's why I bought it. The Allez was beating me to death. I expected to lose some responsiveness, but didn't expect to give up much speed though. I'll try putting some more miles on it and see if I get more accustomed to it.

I am concerned that I may not be able to keep up with my regular riding partners now. I had to push myself before, but now if I lose 1 mph, I'll be the laggard.
