It is a very bulletproof, but very heavy American built Schwinn bicycle.
It is built with the proprietary Schwinn "Electroforged" process.
Typically it comes with solid steel almost everything, rims, hubs, nuts... very little alloy on it. The little bit of alloy (as I recall) and center pull brakes are what set it apart from the Schwinn Varsity of the same era.
$80 depending on who you ask is a fair price, or extremely over-priced. Not many would think you are getting a great deal (unless it were a very early year, and in museum quality).
