I do it all the time. I take my big work truck into the local dealer/shop to be serviced, take the bike out and ride off to my wife's shop. Ride back down around lunch time and pick it up. I have even walked it a couple of times (all of 14 blocks) The people at the dealership seem shocked that I ride or walk that far Jeeze people the freakin' town is only 12 square miles and almost flat. I can ride from one end to the other and side to side in less than 15 minutes!
