Back on the Saddle again….

I went for the first ride in 18 weeks or so, last week! (5/6, hit a car, Brain bleed/collarbone/etc)
Longest I have gone without riding in many years.
Rode 20 miles around San Francisco… a couple things have not changed,
City folks are dangerous drivers…
and there is nothing like being on your machine on a beautiful day!
I have followed it up with 2 rides across the Golden Gate and surrounding environs, Awesome!
I ached in my soul with gratitude at thinking how close I came to loosing it.

I have a few other firsts or long forgotten issues…
Saddle sore, been a long time… (I have to admit it, feels wonderful!)
Tights are loose.
11 mile an hour average speed… this will pass.
Stopping to take in the view… used to be in too much of a hurry.
Not catching every one that tries to drop me. (Why did I care?)
Following slower riders for distances until it is safe to pass… and not sweating it.
Being Fred. (Better Fred then dead!)

Loving my wife that much more for her knowing I have this passion for something else, and her understanding. (it aint easy nursing a man in a hospital bed for months in the living room.)

I came to this forum to live through your experiences after crashing, (drug dependence took me off the web for awhile). Thank you all for sharing, it is almost as good as being there.

Tell your friends you love them everyday, and wear your helmet every time you get on the machine!

Hey Dr. Pete!

Blessings.
