What did it for me was watching an episode of 'Moments of Impact'. A kid on a skateboard was not moving fast at all. Then he triped and fell hitting the back of his head on the street. That simple fall almost killed him. As it turned out, after years of rehabilitation he is almost normal.

If I get on something that rolls, other than a car, I wear a helmet. I am not as sold on a seatbelt.
