My carbon fiber frame has a nick in the clear coat on the top tube. Is this going to catastrophically fail on me? What grease/oil/dry wax lube works best for wheel/BB/headset/peddle bearings and chains? There is another creaking noise in my handlebars; I think my fork is the wrong size for my front wheel. Can I use wd-40 on my wheel bearings? Why do my tires blow out? Why does my Modolo break lever not work with my v-breaks? Why, Why Why?
OK, now seriously: WD-40 is not a lubricant. You should use, for example, motor oil (that's what I use on my chain).
If you think your front fork is too small for your tire, put some motor oil on the front wheel, so it won't creek. You'll have to renew the lube from time to time, but much less often than with a WD-40. In any case, it's a small price to pay for a silent bike ride. Some may say that this will make your bike less stabel, but don't listen to them, you'll do just fine. The front wheel isn't that important for stabelity anyway.
As for why your tires blow, I have no idea. Where's that "stan's is the bestest"-dude when you need him??
