Taking off from when he fired off the warning shot at the dogs, even given the fact that he had a gun. When the guy in the truck SHOWED a gun, I think the whole situation could've still been dissolved without another shot being fired. OTOH, if the truck driver had gotten out, taken out his gun, and taken aim at the biker, I would've done the same thing had I been similarly armed.
OTOH... I probably would've squirted some water at the dogs first.
