We discussed this on the tandem forum - there is no reason why a singlespeed tandem would be any less reliable than a geared one. On the countrary, it should be more reliable. Especially since I could use a 1/8" chain and stronger chainring+cog.
Anyway, it's gonna happen.
If it's fixed, you'll need a spare chain. We broke a timing chain on ours once. Have you voted?
