Not sure I agree. I'm a tad over 6' myself and usually ride 56-57. In fact my modern LeMond is a 55 but LeMonds are sized kind of weird. Now, I have a quite short inseam for my height. 32" inseam pants often have hems that end up under my shoes. OTOH the longer toptube that comes on a taller bike is essential for me, hence the LeMond.

I agree that the OP may have too much weight on his wrists. Stretching out a bit will move the weight back to your core. Moving the seat back or, in the worst case, a longer stem could help. Get with knowledgeable people who can see you on the bike.

I agree wholeheartedly that your Gerch is far better than anything new in that price range but if it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit.
