No you can't and here's one (among many diverse) reason why: if you start deleting and retroactively editing OTHER poster's posts, you make yourself and (as an admin for) bikeforums.net implicitly responsible for the content created by OTHERS! Please tell me you do understand the ramifications of this.
Fact: Bike forums moderators do this on a daily basis. I almost always put a little <edited by moderator> in there as a courtesy though.
