The Brand Directory is now up and available! I'm hoping that there isn't any major problems with it right now as I doubt I'll get to work on it much for the next 4-5 days as I'm going in for surgery. So, what does the new feature do? Glad you asked! It is a single page that lists all Component and Bicycle brands that exist in the database, broken down by Component or Head badge, and then by Country. There are currently LOTS of Component brands that do not have the Country information, and I could certainly use some help filling in that information. So, once you click on a Brand name you are taken to the View Brand screen where you see general information about the brand (Name, Country, Year Opened, Year Closed) and then an over view of the information on VeloBase.com from that Brand. Lastly there are two text areas for general information about the brand, and an article about the history of the brand. Once the History Article reaches a decent size it is then also added to the VeloBase Articles area as well. The one stop shop for everything you want to know about a brand... or at least it will be once the community builds it up some.
