Velocity makes lots of rims, some of them very light. You must be referring to deep Vs. Many rims with the same depth have the same weight or weigh even more. For time-trialing, aero is more important than weight. For hipsters, colors and space for rim stickers outweigh everything else. Either way, you win with a deep V rim.
