Can you suggest another 30-40 mile ride from the ala Moana area?
Well, if you're used to riding in narrow shoulders next to cars at freeway speeds, it may not be too bad for you. But the tunnels are tough because they're so narrow.

My suggestion - Ala Moana, around Diamond Head, up Kalanianaole, left on Lunalilo Home Road, Right on Hawaii Kai Drive Hill, right on Kealahou to Makapuu Beach, to Waimanalo. Then return. That will be about 35-40 miles depending on where you turn around in Waimanalo.

If you want nice views, climb Tantalus in Makiki.

ENJOY!
