flew delta from NY to Dublin. 2 slightly oversized boxes. One for wheels (3 inches over) and other for everything else (8 inches over). got to counter VERY early and strategy was to try and if got stuck, would wait till personnel change to try again. they let everything on, no questions, no charges, nothing. my luck i guess. yes, the bike packs in a box with 70inches total. wheels, can make 62 inches, but i was real sloppy.
