I understand that. If you look up "gay" in the dictionary, both the definitions are there. If you look up "paranoia",
all the definitions make reference to either delusions of persecution or other irrational and unfounded fear. There is no definition of paranoia that I've found which means "a well founded, rational, logical, heightened awareness of one's environment."

I don't live in isolation. I'm well aware of what's going on in the world. The news is 30 minutes of concentrated "here's what went wrong today!" If you live your life in fear of everything that the talking heads on the 6 o'clock news tell you to be frightened of, you'll never leave the house. (Or you'll be convinced that you need to pack a large caliber handgun if you do step out the front door.)
