The "red" route is much more enjoyable. The blue route has no trees until I get into the city. The one advantage of the "blue" route is on the commute home it offers fantastic vistas of the "Little & Big Belt Mountains and the Rocky Mountain front.

On this leg of my commute I may be passed by 10 cars total going the same direction. Fewer going the opposite direction. Most people that live near me use the "blue" route since it is much shorter and enters the city at about its half way point from east to west. The map also only indicates the rural part of the commute. The city part has much more traffic.
