I rode up in Napa yesterday. Cold and foggy at 8AM but by the time I hit Pope Valley Rd., it was a really nice fall day. A little windy in places -- in one tree-lined area near Aetna Springs Rd. it felt like being in a snowstorm with all leaves blowing off the trees -- but that made for a fast ride back on Silverado Trail when I had a tailwind. The vineyards are turning colors, the grapes are heavy on the vine, and it never gets too hot on Ink Grade this time of year.
