I hear how this scam works is when you go to airport, instead of telling the airline you have a bike, you tell them you're checking bike parts. Since it's not "a bike" they won't charge you the $80.
ive heard the same. but ill be taking the train to the airport and wanted to see if anyone knows for sure if you can get away with this on this airline. i dont want to have to assemble and lock my bike for the 4 days ill be gone for the funeral.
