On the contrary, my salesman at the LBS "upgraded" me from a Gary Fisher Wahoo (my original choice) to the Cannondale F5 for extra $50. I think he did good.

Edit: When a salesman tries to push you to other product by saying something that absurd, that means they are trying to get rid of their "inventory" or things that doesn't sell.
