Just wondering what would happen if you rode your bike to a large chain grocery store in the USA[Albertsons, Smiths, Vons, etc.] and instead of locking it up outside, just guided it around the aisles while placing groceries in one of their hand-held baskets? Then on to the check-out line.
After reading another thread about Fast-Food drive-throughs refusing service to those on bicycles . . . I began wondering what the limits are for those on bikes.
DON
I've done it once, but it's usually more trouble than it's worth. I find it's usually easier to take my duffel bag or some canvas sacks in, load them up, have the cashier pack the stuff back in there, then drop them in my panniers for the trip home.
Also, bicycles don't stand upright the way carts do.
