But wouldn't that rumbling be possibly caused by the chainline being off just a bit? I had that same problem on a new bike and it was driving me nuts, so after fooling with it for about a month I took it to an LBS and they said the factory didn't set the chainline correctly, they readjusted it and the problem disappeared. Just a thought, or maybe not.
