Before slathering on the loctight, the first step is to try to diagnose the problem. Crank bolts should not need loctight. Try using a torque wrench for installation so you are getting the bolts tight enough.

A bolt torqued correctly should stay tight with or without grease. If the BB shaft and the bolts are both steel, you do not need to grease the threads.
