Lightweight wheels are items that need replaced over time. It's a cost of riding them.
True - unless you go custom. A good fiend [sic] wheelbuilder of mine will be building a set of customs for me soon. Nearly bomb-proof on the level of Ksyrium ES**, but sub 1300gm clinchers, pre-skewers, and looking at a total of $800US.
**(We say 'nearly' because we both met in a Philosophy course back in our Undergraduate years and refer back to premises of analysis and comparison, but for all intents and purposes here, you could say "As" in place of "Nearly")
