The evolution mini has worked great for me. Easy to fit in a back pocket. Found mine on Amazon.com for much cheaper than the LBS wanted to charge. If you use Sheldon Brown's locking strategy, the thing is almost impervious to leverage-based attacks. My opinion is that the right type of portable saw with a steel cutting blade will go through any ulock in a matter of minutes. Because someone will likely already need a power saw to defeat the mini, a NY level lock never seemed worth the extra weight/money to me.
