For any that do not realise it- Sustrans are building a Cycle network- Or attempting to- right the way through Britain. It is a non- profit organisation and all I can tell you is the experience in my area. The main one is that they have managed to get an old Railway line upgraded to a MUP- with a good walking and cycling surface to it. That is the main one that most people see and a heck of a lot of people use it. The unseen side- Unless you are a cyclist- is that they have found and signed- Cycle friendly routes across our area. Backroads that are relatively car free and sometimes building paths to connect various Cycle routes. The signs are not only for the Cyclists- They also warn motorists that they are on a cycle route so can expect to suddenly find them on the road.

A worthwhile charity- or I think so- That is pushing cycling strongly in the UK.
